About Us

Step back to September 2008 — we witnessed gas prices soar to $4.00 + per gallon, the Auto Industry crash, Lehman Brothers go bust and the entire U.S. banking system on the brink of collapse. Worse yet – our housing market collapsed, leaving the prices of homes down as much as 40% and nearly 40% of us underwater – with our mortgages exceeding our home values. Three years later – the Auto Industry has survived, the Banking Industry – the ones who caused the problem – is now flourishing – but the American taxpayer is not – we have been left holding the bag with trillion dollar deficits, double digit unemployment and a housing industry that is still on the decline – after three long years.

We did not know it then, but we know it now, the good ole days are, as the great Ernie Harwell use to say, ”Are lonnnnnnng gone!”

We started the Financial Crisis Talk Center on WDFN in November, 2008. We did so because we felt the need to have a forum to voice our concerns and to provide a forum for you – the hardworking good people of the United States. Our goal is simple – we want to level the playing field. Since Washington has proven it is subservient to the banks and Wall Street, and the banks and Wall Street have made it clear that they could care less about Detroit and Michigan – we are left to fend for ourselves. The FCTC’s goal is to provide the forum and resources that you need to advance forward in this difficult time and succeed. Using creative strategies, we have carved a path for individuals and businesses to take advantage of these difficult times by using what we call the Tools of Financial Crisis Management to preserve future income and eliminate debt and the burden of houses underwater. We encourage you to “Become a FCTC Member” and join in by voicing your comments in the New Section. So join us, tell your friends and tune in Saturday mornings at 8:30 on the AM dial at 1130 WDFN, “The Fan.” Join us in our goal of leading Michigan back to the great state that it can be.

Sincerely,

The Financial Crisis Talk Center Team
